Dance Major Auditions

All prospective Dance Majors must audition to be accepted into the Dance Program. Acceptance into the Dance Program does not equal acceptance into the University. Prospective students must also apply to the University here.

MTSU Dance accepts dancers with experience and interest in a range of dance techniques and styles. We offer training in ballet, modern, jazz, and tap, and we are interested in seeing prospective dancers’ potential for development as versatile dance artists and thinkers.

Auditions for Fall 2025 entrance will be held on November 23, 2024 (the Saturday of our Fall Concert) and on February 17, 2025 (during our Open House). Video auditions will also be accepted.

Please fill out the audition form below and select an audition option. If you choose an in-person audition we will email you a confirmation within approximately 10 days and follow up with more information closer to your audition date. If you choose a video audition, we will email you links to ballet, modern, and jazz phrases taught by MTSU Dance faculty. Video audition dancers will pick two of the three dance phrases to learn, record, and submit. You will also submit a video of a recent solo choreography.
